The walls are actually a huge witches brew. There are leaf images from the property (famous on some plant registery for being the only tree on the west coast of this vareity) that are overlaid with ovilla (semi-transparent) with crackle add over size. Then I crusted it up a bit more with fauxtex, plastertex and sandstone. Lots of different plasters that were going to take the glaze and absorb in different ways. 4 colors of glaze and then a layer of dull durasheen. The owner tells me it's his favorite room in the house although it's only really an overflow room for dinner parties. Oh, to have that kind of expendable cash. Crazy!

That must be why I like it. I did a simalar finish in a laundry room, the last room we fauxed in the whole house and named the finish "the last bucket" because we used up the last bucket of everything we had. It was my favorite room in the house!
